Installing the app

Friends & Robots is a native macOS app. Download the disk image, drag it to your Applications folder, and sign in — you'll be in a session within a couple of minutes.

Requirements#

Friends & Robots runs on a Mac with Apple Silicon — an M1 chip or newer.

Much of the production pipeline on Friends & Robots runs through native media libraries like ffmpeg that are fastest on Apple Silicon. For that reason we build exclusively for Apple Silicon and do not ship an Intel build.

Windows support is on our roadmap.

Install#

  1. Open the disk image

    Double-click the downloaded .dmg to mount it.

  2. Drag to Applications

    In the window that opens, drag Friends & Robots onto the Applications folder.

  3. Launch it

    Open Friends & Robots from Applications. If macOS asks you to confirm the first launch, click Open.

Sign in#

On first launch, sign in with your account — or create one if you're new. Walk through it in Creating your account.

Your first 500 credits are free. They're in your account the moment you sign in, so you can start creating right away.
